No, though he wasn't of sound mind. He spoke mostly of people and worked to maintain his composure during our journey. Powers weren't discussed.

I was with him when he wished to regain his power at the crystal, and he got a different one entirely. The circumstances there are complicated - it isn't strictly his power, but it's not entirely someone else's either...

Regardless, he's unpredictable and very, very strong.

That's quite a skill and one that that would be remarkably useful, even outside of the labyrinth. Perhaps a portal could even put us in our favorite captor's room.

Negotiating with Vaeros' life would likely elicit a response from someone.

In reference to Kurogiri though - I've spoken to him about the cloud creation ability. I assume that's the one you're referring to.

Exactly my thinking. It's been some time since we discussed the particulars of his power, but I think the caveat was that he has to have precise coordinates. That's the only wrench in things, and it can potentially be overcome.

I don't know. And that isn't a cop out to protect my friend. I'm trying to help him figure it out, but he doesn't entirely know either. I'm sure if you two spoke while he was resisting his enthrallment, you likely noticed that at times, he's not... all there. That isn't particular to the Green Knight's effect.

Something happened to him to manipulate and alter his memories, and even his body. He's currently unrecognizable to those from his reality.

From what I've seen, the cloud power belonged to him when he was someone else, who both is and is not him. The more I learn about it, the less I understand, but it's a grave situation.

The coordinates issue is simple, if it involves traditional latitude and longitude. The world is miniscule when it comes to the area we're allowed in.

We pick coordinates at random and see where he ends up. If it's off the island, even better. Then we work from there - adjust and adapt it to our needs until we manage to reach our goal.

But it's disheartening to hear that. A cognition so warped he can't even see his true self.

Whatever happened to him may have been deeply traumatic, even to split a psyche. It's interesting, really, how people react to the circumstances of their lives and the challenges that occur.

Or perhaps it's similar to a psychotic break that hasn't fully assimilated or went wrong. A temporary issue prolonged by bad luck alone.

Regardless, it's none of our concern. His power is necessary and an ability to wield it. You can't solve everyone's personal problems.

If he's ever able to regain it, I'll see if he's amenable to testing it out like that. Whether his circumstances are my concern or not, he was the first friend that I made here - he's important to me, and his cooperation would be a huge boon for us.

Sentimentally aside, do what you want with him then. He's rational and seems willing to assist in almost every area. If he at least entertains the thought initially, I'm certain he can be convinced over time.

As for your last statement, it's an idle comment based on light reading and a minor understanding of psychology.

The castle door opens. Shoes at the doorway. No house slippers here, though his eyes always move to the corner of the entryway, as if some will appear. An unshakeable display of muscle memory.

The smell hits him, as usual. A mixture of familiar spices and ingredients. He's mad about it tonight, but sits at his usual seat, hands folded under his chin, as he watches the castle's personal chef work. Amazing how maneuvering pots and pans keeps him from acting like a goddamn part time comedian.]

The assimilation of an arcade into this reality is getting tiring.

He doesn't look up as he hears Akechi settle in, doesn't say anything at all until he speaks first. But then his response is immediate. ]
