Whether you do or don't is irrelevant. All I care about is you maintaining our agreement.

A part of him-
Is curious though. Wonders. Thinks about what could happen in that place after being involved in it for so long. How it might change, look, feel - if palaces will continue to be the only way a human heart forms in that world or if it'll manifest in other ways.

There are two ways to access the Metaverse.
One is through the subway station - that will take you to Mementos.
Two is the use of keywords on an application to access the palaces of those with distorted hearts. Full name, real world location and how they see the world. Often, the latter is a guess. There's no limit to the attempts you can make.
I imagine you will be bound by these constraints like the rest of us. The application will appear on your phone on its own.
As a final note - the map I drew when you first moved into the castle is the general layout, but the levels are never the same - the depths it goes to is unknown. There is no foreseeable end, which feels appropriate given what it reflects.
The offer. The choice. The promise. Akechi said he would. Maruki said he would wait. They're supposed to walk into that world together, at least once. An almost poetic way to end their intertwined lives with one final walk through a reality neither belongs in.
Metaverse. Somnius. It's all the same.
It's too risky to drag him along on a normal outing, mission or not. Akechi isn't watched like he was in his younger years, isn't under the time constraint necessary to capture the Phantom Thieves, Shido doesn't know Maruki enough to fear him.
To make it work without any chance of either being found out, Akechi would need to finish everything that day. Explain the world to Maruki. Kill Shido. Then die by the hand of some sycophant in a power struggle. Die by the hand of a cleaner. Die with Shido because that man was never a pushover.
When he travels to that world with Maruki, it will be the last time he steps foot in it.
What a symbolic end to an unwanted life - trawling through the unconcious of humanity to listen to the last sordid, disgusting thoughts of a world that doesn't deserve to continue.]
I'll see what I can do. If it's feasible, we will.

A cognitive representation of collective unconscious was accessible through the subway all this time? I could kick myself...
If the application does appear, I won't even open it until you've done what you need to do. Our deal comes first.

Be cautious entering and exploring.

That wasn't lip service. I understand the constraints we're both under, but I stand by it. Go with me, just once.
