Other worlds within Amala's boundary were boring to him. Their differences were slight, from what he'd seen - with the exception of that one with the demon-humans and their god being the Sun, that was mildly interesting - but Akechi's world... offered a fascinating line of thought he'd never really considered.
Humans were weak. They had to grasp at demons or gods to become strong - even Demi-Fiend acknowledged that his strength was borne from the magatama, that if he had remained human, he would've died as a pathetic weakling, swept aside like so many others. Even Raidou, as strong as he was, was a weak human. Time claimed him as it did all mortal things.
Persona... manifesting an entity on par with a demon from the depths of your soul, without paying a toll. No magatsuhi cost, no one-sided contracts, no clinging onto a capricious demon that offered its gift wrapped in barbed wire... it was a power that only HUMANS could have. A power that HUMANS could awaken in themselves en masse... maybe? But it meant that secret ambition Demi-Fiend harboured within him... an Amala free from the machinations of the Great Will, of Lucifer - an Amala where humanity finally stomped down on their grasping fingers and stood at the very top...?

but makes sense. magatama arent living beings. theyre closer to 'objects' than an 'entity'. when inert, they look like this for example. similar to the jade they share their name with lol

its the same in my reality re: atziluth. the average human knows nothing about it but every human consciousness feeds into it. think of it like a sea of info from which all demons are born. made easier when those thoughts are digitised - like with the internet lol
did you know its a lot easier and less energy intensive to summon demons through digital rituals? if you use arcane rituals it takes a lot of energy. youre needing to generate enough power to have the demon cross the boundary between the two worlds but also allow it to adopt a physical form since it exists as pure data before. demon summoning programmes sidestep this issue by hooking its summoning protocols onto the internet harvesting the infinite emotional energy humans pour into it daily to manage the data transfer from atziluth to assiah
so it makes me wonder. perhaps your cognitive world is simply that but for whatever reason is a either completely walled off... or so blended with the human world that its actually difficult to map out the boundary between them. the way you describe creating a persona makes me think it's the latter tbh
which is interesting. it means the demons there are completely at the mercy of human Observation. i'm guessing that its normal in your world to think demons and spirits and all that to be fictional? just shit you see in stories, films and games?

in my reality there's still a separation between the two. human belief wanes but the data has already been spawned and the demons have developed their own individual consciousness. theyre still slaves to human Observation but theres wiggle room for them. they can still do their own shit and think their own things.

I'll admit - you've provided a brand new perspective for me. One I haven't heard before or explored on my own. It never occurred to associate internet usage with that world, or the collective unconcious that resides in it.
However, it makes sense. Moreso given how access to our cognitive world is given - through a phone application. To my current knowledge, an internet connection may or may not be required. I live in a city that is perpetually connected to it. I plan to test this when I return to my reality. Though not your main point in this, I'm curious if the application will work.
As for the demons, or shadows - they do have their own personalities. They have demeanors you can exploit, preferences they discuss and move around in that reality. They don't have a functioning society, of course. I would still consider them mindless in comparison to the true world, however-
I will reassess and try to recall the extent of their autonomy. After all, the shadows are born from distorted desires. An awakening occurs in a moment of great stress to the user. Emotions are part and parcel of the cognitive world. Something I knew, yet I didn't put the importance on it I should have.
What a connection - this is beyond intriguing.
